Comanche, OK - Dovie Marie Carlton Weast went to be with our Lord and Savior Aug. 27, just five days before her 91st birthday. A funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025, at Providence Baptist Church, with Bro. Dee Bowen officiating and under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Friday.

She was born Sept. 1, 1934, in Bromide, Oklahoma to Audie and Mary Carlton. She was a loving wife, mother, homemaker, teacher, coach and GG.

On June 2, 1957, in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, she married Tommy Dean Weast. Dovie and Tommy had two sons, Aaron Dean and Kenny Hugh, and one daughter, Patty Jan. Dovie and Tommy were married for 32 years when Tommy passed away suddenly.

She was a teacher for 30 years. She worked her first year in Wetumka, Oklahoma, then three years in Ignacio, Colorado then they moved to Comanche, where she finished her 26 years teaching and coaching.

In 1966, she was assistant coach of Comanche's 1966 girls State Championship team.

She is survived by: her son, Aaron Dean Weast and wife, Letitia; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Weast; daughter, Patty Mayes; six grandchildren, Quinn Blair and husband Greg, Misty Scott and husband Ben, Lance Witti, Krystle Weast and husband Hunter Eisenhour, Jay Weast and wife Kylie, and Bo Weast; and nine great-grandchildren, Caity, Tommy, Briar, Presley, London, Tristan, Marcus, Marlie and Kennedy.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Audie and Mary Carlton; her husband, Tommy Weast; son, Kenny Weast; and siblings, Buster Carlton, Harley Carlton, Lola Lane and Lucille Wood.
