Duncan, Oklahoma - Elaine Drew Kiester, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Duncan Regional Hospital after a brief illness. She was 78.

Elaine was born March 18, 1947, to Ima Rudine (Chapman) Drew and Eugene Drew in Fort Benning, Georgia. She was raised in Duncan, Oklahoma, and graduated from Duncan High School in 1965 and Cameron University.

In 1968, she married Michael Ellis Kiester, with whom she shared a long and happy marriage. Elaine was a proud mother to two children: Megan Kiester Satow of Seattle, Washington and Michael David Kiester of Fort Worth, Texas. She was equally proud of her role as "Nana" to her five grandchildren: Robbie, Kenji and Yoshi Satow; and Alyx and Mack Kiester. Her enthusiasm, support and love will be cherished by each of them.

She is survived by her husband Mike, her daughter, son, and their spouses - Hideo Satow and Kathryn Kiester - as well as her beloved cousins Kay Hall and Donna Kriz.

Elaine's legacy is one of unconditional love, fierce friendship and a great sense of humor. She was an avid reader, MahJong player and always had time to go for lunch or a coke with friends.

The family is deeply grateful to her doctors, nurses and the staff at Duncan Regional Hospital for their compassionate care during her final days.

Visitation is planned for 6-8 p.m. Saturday, May 17 at Carter-Smart Funeral Home in Duncan.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her honor to a local charity of your choice or to the Duncan Regional Hospital Foundation.
