Faye Lanell (Bradley) Jones Obituary

Faye Lanell (Bradley) Jones passed into her heavenly home on January 18, 2024, her 93rd birthday. Faye was born in Ryan, OK to Robert Lee and Mattie (Wohlgemuth) Bradley. She grew up in the Jefferson County area, graduating Waurika High School in 1948.

She started work as a telephone operator and was employed with Halliburton as a Senior Draftsman for 25 years. She also served her community as the VFW President of Oklahoma in 1953.

Faye was a widow for 2 years, before meeting another widower, Donas Jones, at Bethel Church in Duncan. A chocolate pie sealed the deal. They were married for 46 wonderful years. Together, they camped all over Colorado and South Texas. She loved being a snowbird and the San Juan Mountains. They spent their summers chasing the weather, serving faithfully in whatever church they landed. Faye could not have children but her marriage with Donas made her a mother and later a grandmother. She was so proud of her kids and grandkids.

She is preceded in death by a son, David Jones, and a brother, Bob Bradley. She is survived by her husband, Donas, of the home; a daughter, Sherilyn and Rev. Elwyn Rogers of Marlow; a son, Rev. Bradley and Lynn Jones of Mustang and four awesome granddaughters: Lindsey Jones, Jessica Rogers, Allison Jones and Haley (Jones) van der Merwe. She is also survived by a brother, Lloyd and Betty Bradley of Duncan, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation is planned for 8:30 A.M. to 9:30 A.M., Monday, January 22, at Bethel Church followed by the funeral service at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Ron Meador officiating. A private family interment will take place the following day in the Fort Sill National Cemetery under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home with David Cantwell, David Taylor, Terry Chasteen, Gerald Morris, Joe Murphree, and Lynn Hedrick serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethel Church at 700 W Plato Road, Duncan, Oklahoma 73533.
