Gerald Wayne Darity passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at the age of 77. He was born on September 17, 1940, in Velma, to Dee and Evita Iounettie (Maxwell) Darity.

A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, March 20, at 3:00 P.M. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David McAllister, Unity Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.

Gerald graduated from Velma High School and attended the University of Central Oklahoma and the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. He married Pauline Jeanette Daniels on May 22, 2015, in Duncan.

He raised chickens while he lived in Wister, in eastern Oklahoma. He was a member of the Duncan Antique & Classic Car Club. His favorite pastimes were fishing, car cruises, and going to the casino. He also enjoyed doing carpentry work, reading his automotive books, and attending swap meets.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles Darity; brothers-in-law, Charles DeArmond and Phil Hosler; and nephew, Jeffery Darity.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Pauline; step-children, Ronald Lambeth, Robert James Lambeth II, and Rachel Lambeth-Osborne; step-grandchildren, Deonta Thompson, Eldonta Osborne II, Christopher Osborne, and Alexandria Osborne; 4 step-great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Lou Hosler and Linda DeArmond; and nieces, Lori Hosler, Tori Miller, and Gena Mercer.

Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Duncan Antique & Classic Car Club.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gerald's name to the Cancer Center of Duncan, 2110 Duncan Regional Loop Road, Duncan, OK 73533.
