Jean Eason

A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, April 30, at 11:00 A.M. at the Velma Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating assisted by Rev. Jeremy Higle. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.

Jean graduated from Fox High School in 1950. She married Johnnie "Kenneth" Eason on June 16, 1950 in Countyline. From this union, four children were born, Gaylin, Dwayne, Bebe, and KD.

She was employed as a bookkeeper for Bovaird Supply & Pool Well Service and Longhorn Supply. She was also employed at Haggar Slacks Company. She retired in 1995. She loved "The Club" from the Immanuel Baptist Church. Jean was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking everyone's favorite food. She was well known for her specialties: pies, candy and fried pies. She enjoyed gardening and raising flowers. She loved to water ski and did so well into her 60s. She was always throwing pool parties for her grandkids. Jean could dance a mean 2-step. Most of all, she loved being a grandmother.

Jean was a faithful member of the Velma Baptist Church and the Velma Senior Citizens Center.

Plant a tree: How does it work

When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.

An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.

After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.

Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

Tree Planting Timeline
