Jimmie Delano Barton
Born in Marlow January 25, 1937, to William and Katie (Franklin) Barton. On November 8, 2019, this US Army veteran, after a valiant battle with Parkinson's;, transitioned to eternal life. He was at home with his loving wife by his side. Singing gospel music and going to church kept his spirit healthy. The Bible, telling jokes, hard work, trading, helping others, and playing dominoes kept him sharp minded. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn "Cookie" Polsley, his father and mother, 7 brothers, 5 sisters, one grandson, many cousins, nieces, and nephews, and friends. He is survived by his wife Peggy, 14 children, 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 5 sisters, 4 brothers, many cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends. To all Jimmie would say, "I love you."

To all friends and family thank you for attending Jim’s service at Gospel Tabernacle on November 13, 2019. The church was full but the family was unable to see who was there or greet you afterwards. Please know that it meant so much to have you all there. To Glory Bound and the other churches who blessed the family with such a comfortable, peaceful gathering space and an amazing dinner, thank you. May God make his face to shine on you all and meet your every need. With love, Mr and Mrs Retired SFC Timothy Smith and family. ((Tim, Diane, Chukwudubem, Terrence, Timothy Jr., Yasmeen, and Ian)
