Oct. 5, 1930 - Jan. 19, 2011 John William "J.W." Younts was born Sunday, Oct. 5, 1930, in Marlow, the son of S.M. and Dollie Lee (Hall) Younts, and departed this life on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011, at the age of 80. He married Ona Faye Wright on March 19, 1951, in Lawton, and they lived in Duncan. She preceded him in death on June 10, 2000. Faye and J.W. are now reunited in heaven in the eternal presence of their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a lifetime journeyman carpenter from age 17 to his retirement in 1990. J.W. enjoyed rodeos, gardening and motorcycles and was a huge John Wayne fan. Survivors include his sons: Jerry Younts and his wife Joni of Noble, and Steve Younts of Athens, Texas; daughters: Collena Holloway and husband Ken of Duncan, Judy Bates and husband Earl of Marlow; and Angela Younts of Duncan, a sister, Louise Belshe of Duncan, fourteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. J.W. was also preceded in death by his parents, a brother, two sisters and a son, Richard Glen Younts. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be: Michael Evans, Cody Evans, Billie Price, Wayne Tinney, Keith Holloway and David Harris. Honorary bearers are his grandsons.
