Karyn Renee Twyford
Karyn Twyford, 56 of Duncan, Oklahoma passed away peacefully in her home in Duncan, Oklahoma on Friday January 3, 2020.

Friends and family will celebrate Karyn's life on Monday, 1/13/2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church at 207 N 2nd St in Duncan, OK with Pastor Todd Davison officiating.

Born in Wilson Oklahoma on 11/22/1963 Karyn lived with her family until moving to Southern Oklahoma Resource Center in 1970. There she attended Hilltop School where she graduated in1984 later moving to Duncan in 1993 to participate in the Duncan Group Homes and Power Shop's programs and services, transitioning to Think Ability Inc.

Karyn had a unique personality and never met a stranger. Few met her that she didn't leave a lasting impression. She was entertained by simple things like "white paper" and absolutely thrilled to go for a ride to get a "big cup." The trip was even better if the driver followed her directions. Her favorite drink was "red pop" [Dr Pepper] or "my blue" [Rootbeer]. If you knew Karyn long, she assigned you a name and expected you to respond. You were fortunate if Karyn's name for you was close to your own or something flattering, not all were, but you answered just the same. It was a privilege to share life with Karyn. If you didn't know her, you missed knowing someone truly special. For those that knew Karyn, the memories of better times will provide smiles to last a lifetime.

Karyn was preceded in death by her father Jimmy Lester Twyford, her mother Florence Yuvonne Brown-Twyford, and a brother, Jimmy Jack Twyford. She is survived by her siblings; Glen Routon of Tablerock,Nebraska, Larry Twyford of Lone Grove, Oklahoma, Debbie Boyd of Claremore, Oklahoma, Lisa Satterly of Edmond, Oklahoma, Bobby Twyford, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, her roommates; Toni Gottschalk & Vicky Herdt and countless Direct Support Professionals.

I didn't have the honor of knowing this lovely lady, but I am secure in the knowledge that she is alongside the Master in His Heavenly Kingdom.
