Feb. 25, 1932 - May 7, 2010 Lavon J."L.J." Clayton, 78 of Norman, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 7, 2010, at Norman Speciality Hospital in Norman. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday, May 10, 2010 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Duncan with Rev. Dan Standifer officiating. Burial is under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home. "L.J." was born Thursday, Feb. 25, 1932 in Addington, to Jesse L. and Lucy (Sewell) Clayton. He married the love of his life, Betty J. Wells on Dec. 20, 1952 in Gainesville, Texas. After working in th oil business in Oklahoma and New Mexico, "L.J." moved his family to Edmond, in 1966 and started a successful Farmers Insurance Agency, retiring in 1994. "L.J." is survived by his wife Betty of the home , two sons, Larry Clayton of Oklahoma City and Billy Clayton of Oklahoma City, one daughter, Patricia "Trish" Lowther of Edmond, by his twin sister, Lavera Huffman of Duncan, seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Honorary bearers will be Brian Ratliff, Larry Hukill, Rodney Lowther, Coy Ivey, Randy Granzow. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.granthamfuneralhomes.com.
