Linda June Clark Obituary

Duncan - Linda June Clark was born June 12, 1940, in Duncan, Oklahoma, to G.J. and Opal (Brown) Waitman. She passed away peacefully Sunday, Dec. 21, 2025, at the age of 85, surrounded by the family she cherished so deeply.

On Oct. 14, 1962, Linda married the love of her life, Fred Clark, and together they built a beautiful life rooted in faith, devotion and unconditional love. A dedicated homemaker, Linda poured her heart into raising their three children, always putting her family first. Her home was a place of warmth, comfort and steady guidance, shaped by her ornery, but kind, spirit and unwavering care. She was the boss and everyone knew it. If she said jump, the correct response was "how high." They also knew her love and generosity knew no bounds.

Linda found joy in the simplest aspects of life — attending church, spending time outdoors, tending to her roses and trimming trees with pride. She loved to sew, shop and give, always thinking of others before herself. Her selflessness was one of her defining qualities and she touched countless lives in her time on this earth. She loved Jesus, but she cussed a little. A trait that her family loved to tease her about.

She enjoyed getting her hair done and never stepped out without her makeup being just right. Leopard print was her favorite color and Coke Zero and sushi were some of her favorite treats; so much so that Homeland's sushi bar had her order ready and prepared daily. Christmas was her most beloved holiday, a season that reflected her giving heart and her love for family. Most people did not know her as Linda — she was Memaw, a title she wore with joy and honor.

Above all, Linda was a praying woman who loved the Lord with all her heart. Her faith guided her, sustained her and shaped the legacy she leaves behind.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Fred; children: Becky Gordon, Fredie "Bubba" Clark and wife Christy; grandchildren: Rebecca Knight, Tabitha Leonhart (Jeff), Kc McGuire (David), Ashton Hall (Cayd), Eli Clark (Micah), Deacon Clark, Daysia Blackwell, Angel Pitchford (Austin), Autumn Bright (Kyle); great-grandchildren: Grayson McGuire, Asa Barrington, Junuh McGuire, Rory Hall, Uriah Clark, Cainan Knight, Phoenix Bessemer, Chapel Leptinsky, Dawson Beranek, Cooper Beranek, Luke Leonhart; and sister, Karen Mitchell.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, G.J. and Opal Waitman; daughter, Tamera Kay Mikel; grandson, Tyler Mikel; and brothers: Jack Waitman, Jerry Waitman, Tony Waitman and Bob Waitman.
