Stillwater, Oklahoma - Lois Eileen Harris was born Feb. 11, 1946 in Fort Scott, Kansas, to Joe and Ethelyn Boatright, and passed from this earth July 7, 2025 in Stillwater, Oklahoma after a prolonged illness. Lois grew up in Bronaugh with her parents and two sisters. Lois graduated from Bronaugh High School in 1964. he married Larry Harris Jan. 29, 1966 in Kansas. Together they lived in Pittsburg, Kansas, later moving to Stillwater, Oklahoma. She graduated with her degree in Business and Secondary Education in 1971 from Oklahoma State University. She and Larry moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1971. In 1973 they would move to Duncan, Oklahoma where they would live for the next 49 years. Lois obtained her Elementary Education Certificate and began teaching full time at Horace Mann Elementary in 1983, teaching First Grade and then Kindergarten until her retirement in 2005.

In 1972, Lois gave birth to Danielle Lynn Harris. Later, in 1976, she gave birth to James Bryan Harris. After Danielle's passing in 1982, they adopted a son, Michael TaeWan Harris, in 1983. This was followed by the adoption of a daughter, Megan Nicole Harris, in 1986.

Lois loved to water ski, snow ski, and to play tennis. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially when it was combined with one of her favorite pastimes. Even her children's friends would affectionately refer to Lois as "Mom". Holiday's, vacations, and family reunions were very special to her. Lois loved being a teacher. Few things would bring her more happiness than seeing her former students and seeing their success. Lois absolutely loved the Duncan community and the life that they had built there.

In 2022, due to declining health, she and Larry were forced to leave Duncan and relocate to Stillwater until her passing. Despite this, her heart always remained in Duncan.

She is survived by her husband Larry Harris; her sons: Michael and Jill and their children Mason and Kiley, Bryan and Summer and their children Gavyn, Finn, and Danielle, Megan and Sywan and their children Serena and Vera.

She is preceded in death by her parents Joe and Ethelyn Boatright; her sisters Joan Diehn and Karen Ford, and her daughter Danielle Lynn Harris.

Pallbearers will be James Beyl, Phillip Johnson, Gavyn Harris, Jeff Pollock, Mason Harris and Matt Martin.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the First Presbyterian Church in Duncan, Oklahoma, located at 704 West Ash Ave, Duncan, Oklahoma 73533. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2025, at the First Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Duncan Cemetery.
