Joplin, Missouri - Lonnie Rex Walker, known affectionately as Rex to his friends and family, passed away peacefully Jan. 27, 2026, in Joplin, Missouri. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4 in Joplin, Missouri at Parker Mortuary.
Born July 26, 1938, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Rex was a graduate of Neosho Missouri High School, class of 1955, and Missouri S & T. Rex was an engineer with Halliburton in Duncan, Oklahoma for 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Stripling Walker; three children: Randy, of Bainbridge Island, Washington, Lynne, of Seattle, Washington, and Cindy, of Joplin Missouri; two grandchildren: Zane and Cordelia; one brother, Russell Walker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
