Marlow - Maida Gaye Moore, 91, passed away Friday, Aug. 7, 2026 in Marlow, Oklahoma. A graveside memorial service is planned for 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 12 at the Duncan Municipal Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.

Maida was born Aug. 26, 1934, in Electra, Texas to Fred Melvin Jones and Greta Beryl Jones-Parks. She graduated from Duncan High School in 1952. She met the love of her life, Ronald "Sonny" Moore, during their high school years. They married May 31, 1952 and celebrated 53 wonderful years of wedded bliss before Sonny's death in 2005. To this union was born three sons, Ronald Stephen, Richard Wayne, and Rex David Moore. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Maida, will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Maida worked in the oil industry as Vice President of Grace Petroleum for about 10 years in Oklahoma City and then in Duncan, Oklahoma, retiring from Mack Energy in 1990. She was active in her church and after Sonny's death, took up the art of quilting. She loved making quilts for those she loved.

Survivors include her son, Rex David Moore, of Duncan; her grandchildren: Christina Ann Gooch and husband Shawn, Patricia Todd and husband Mike, and Stephen Muller, all of Oklahoma City, Chase Moore and wife Nikki, of Helena, Montana; fifteen great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law: Barbara Jones, of Cabot, Arkansas, Norma Jenkins, and Judy Nickell, all of Duncan; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sonny; her parents; sons: Ronald Stephen Moore and Richard Wayne Moore; sister, Greta Colleen Price; brother, Lloyd Jones; and brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Joy Lamb.
