Duncan, Oklahoma - Margaret Ann Helton, of Duncan, Oklahoma, went to be with her Lord on Friday, April 11, 2025, while living at Elk Crossing Nursing Center.
She was born to John and Jennie Moore on Feb. 11, 1929, in Waurika, Oklahoma. She loved playing the drums and being in the marching band. She met and married the love of her life, JW Helton. They were blessed with four children. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone until the switch board was converted over to self-dial. They built a home and moved to Duncan, Oklahoma. She loved the lake and traveling around the country. She was an active member of Bethel Assembly of God Church. She loved playing cards, dominoes and marble games. For many years Margaret was privileged to care for children in her home giving her a much larger family. She and JW also hosted a Bible study in their home where God moved and ministered to so many lives. She loved her family, friends, the staff of Canoe Brook and Elk Crossing, the preschoolers at Elk Crossing, going to Widow's Dinners and Women's ministry at church.
Margaret is survived by her family: her daughter Jan Brock and husband Larry of Comanche, granddaughter Amy and husband Kevin Hon of Chattanooga, Tenneessee, grandson John and wife Amber Brock of Comanche, Oklahoma, her son Tim Helton and wife Shirley of Norman, Oklahoma, grandson Scott and wife Carrie Helton of Mounds, Oklahoma, great grandchildren Sydney, Tyler and Lydia, granddaughter Holly and husband Alan Rolofson of Norman, Oklahoma, great-grandchildren Hayden, Bella and Cruz, her daughter Virginia Barrick and husband Dan of Tulsa, Oklahoma, grandson Bradley and wife Shayla Barrick of Greenville, Michigan, great-grandchildren Morgan and husband Kobe, Nate, Allie and Aiden, granddaughter Laura Gould and her husband Brian of Sidney, Arkansas, great-grandchildren Journey, Aubrey and Kimberly, grandson Kalyn and wife Hannah Barrick of Tulsa, Oklahoma, great-grandchildren Luke, Norah and James, her son David Helton of Coyle., Oklahoma, grandson Cread Helton of Edmond, Oklahoma, grandson BJ and wife Eden Helton of Perkins, Oklahoma, great-grandchildren Emberly and Eyla, and beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband JW and daughter-in-law Kim, her parents, five sisters and two brothers.
Viewing will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, at Whitt Funeral Home. The funeral service will at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Bethel Assembly of God Church in Duncan with Pastor Ron Meador officiating. Burial will be at Duncan Cemetery following the service.
