Marlow - Royce Tedford Whisenhunt, 93, passed away Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, in Duncan, Oklahoma surrounded by family.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2026, at Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services of Marlow.

Royce was born in Cheek, Oklahoma, to Grady and Eunice (Martin) Whisenhunt. He attended Wilson High School before entering the military. During his time in the Army, he served in the Korean War and was awarded multiple service medals. He married Nelda (Blodgett) Whisenhunt Jan. 2, 1953. Together, they moved frequently during his military service before settling in Marlow, where they made their home for more than 60 years.

After returning to Oklahoma, Royce built a successful career in the oil and gas industry. While he took great pride in his work, his greatest joy was spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Royce is survived by daughters, Sherri Isbell and her husband, Jerry, and Sheila Mercer and her husband, Carl; grandchildren, Leisha Weatherly and her husband, Kyle, Michael Mercer, and Cody Mercer; and great-grandchildren, Bryce Weatherly, Carter Weatherly, Laurel Mercer; and sister, Morine Waller.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Nelda Whisenhunt; father, Grady Buck Whisenhunt; mother, Eunice Nipp and stepfather Edd Nipp; sisters, Beatrice Blodgett and Lucy Tadlock; and brother, Joe Nipp.
