Sarah Q.L. Arrington Obituary

Sarah Arrington, 86, of Comanche, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016, at her home in Meridian.

Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2016, at Liberty Baptist Church, with the Rev. Rusty Canoy officiating, interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche, Oklahoma, arrangements have been entrusted to family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home.

Sarah was born June 29, 1929, in Waurika, Oklahoma, to Charley and Emily (Clayton) Houston, Sarah was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Sarah and Calvin Arrington were married Aug. 9, 1947, in Henrietta, Texas, to this union were born four children, Joe Don, Jimmy, Bobby Wayne and Sandra.

Calvin preceded Sarah in death on Nov. 9, 2008.

Survivors include two sons, Joe Don Arrington and his wife Katherine, of Alvin, Texas, Jimmy Arrington and his wife Andrea, of Duncan, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Krista and Toby, Kelly and Channing, Mellisa, Kimberly and Mike, Heather and Ashley; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Rhyne, of Arkansas.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents Charley and Emily Houston; her husband, Calvin; a son, Bobby Wayne and a daughter, Sandra Thompson.

Pallbearers will be Mike Thompson, Ricky Adams, Wesley Kent Arrington, Toby Martin, Mike Catterson and Arron Askins.
