Hornwell, New York - Sonnya Kaye (Sandy) Ledbetter Hofecker, 88, passed away peacefully Feb. 1, 2026, in Hornwell, N.Y.
Born Sept. 28, 1937, in Duncan, OK, to Daisy Lee Briscoe Ledbetter and Floyd E. Ledbetter. She graduated from Duncan High School in 1955. Memorial services will be live streamed at 2 p.m. (EST) March 6 at St. James Episcopal Church, Hendersonville, N.C. A life celebration will be held at internment at 10 a.m. June 27, at Vestal Hills Memorial Park Tower of Memories, Vestal, N.Y.
She was preceded in death by parents and husband W. Jay Hofecker; brother-in-law Dr. Ronny Max LaQuey; and special friends Dorthy Purtell and Diane Harper.
She is survived by children S. Mischell Barbieri (John), M. Renee Grabiec (Glenn), Mikel D. Hassman (Mark), Mark B. Cantales and Joseph H. Cantales; stepchildren James, John Hofecker and Sue Edson; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; sisters Virginia L. LaQuey and Patricia L. Ledbetter, of Duncan and Debra A. Boydston, Greenville, IL.; cousins, nieces and nephews.
