Vicki Tidwell Obituary

Duncan - Vicki Tidwell, aged 69, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love, generosity and cherished memories. Vicki attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Duncan, Oklahoma, where she was known for her athleticism and competitive spirit, often racing the boys and winning. She was crowned football homecoming queen in junior high.

From a young age, Vicki developed a passion for cooking and baking, often reading cookbooks as a hobby. Her culinary skills were renowned, with friends frequently visiting just to savor her cooking, especially her world-famous chimichangas. Vicki's love for music was evident, having attended ZZ Top concerts five times, and the music volume was never too loud for her in the car.

Vicki was a devoted mother, never missing an event her children participated in, always supporting and loving them unconditionally. Her love extended to her grandchildren, with whom she joyfully attended tea parties, museum visits and lake outings, often donning a tiara for the occasion.

An avid reader, Vicki also had a soft spot for stray cats, who seemed to instinctively find their way to her. She was generous with hugs, affirmations and anything she had, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she met.

Vicki Tidwell's warmth, kindness and love will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Those left to mourn Vickie's loss include: her children, Josh Dufour and wife Erica of Tuttle, Andrea Hasenmyer and husband Mark of Edmond, Joe Byford of Duncan; grandchildren, Tyler Dufour, Ava Dufour, Evans and wife Morgan Hasenmyer, Audra Hasenmyer, Hannah Hasenmyer; sister, Theresa Mitchell and husband Joe; and nephew, Kyle Fleetwood.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Kay Benedict; brother, Rick Benedict; and nephew, Adam Fleetwood.

The family will host a celebration of life at Joe's house at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 15.
