Nona dedicated her life to her faith and community as a lifelong member of First Baptist Church. She worked with joy as the "popcorn lady" at Halliburton Credit Union, known for her warm smile and generosity towards others. Granny cheered her grandchildren on from the stands at their activities and whether it was a trip to the mountains, Disney or the lake, she was always up for the adventure and never fell behind.
Granny enjoyed daily walks at the mall and cherished her time having coffee with friends. She was a competitive spirit, never backing down from an argument, and always stood firm in her beliefs, guided by her faith in the Bible. Everyone called her and knew her by the name "Granny."
Growing up on a farm in Blanchard instilled in Nona a deep appreciation for hard work and Oklahoma roots. She was an avid fan of all things OU and the OKC Thunder, bringing her enthusiasm to every game she attended or watched. Known for her love of a good game of pitch, Nona enjoyed friendly competition and camaraderie with friends and family alike.
Quick to offer comfort and wisdom, Nona was always ready with a Bible verse to inspire and uplift. Her life was a testament to her unwavering faith and commitment to serving others, leaving a legacy of kindness and compassion that will be treasured by all who knew her.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the nurses and doctors who provided compassionate care and support to Nona during her final weeks. Special gratitude is also expressed to close family friends, Doris and Carla, for their friendship and dedicated care for Granny.
